MICHAEL DEFORGE NOMINATED FOR DOUG WRIGHT AWARD
Author of Lose #1 nominated!
The Doug Wright Awards, established in 2004 to honour the legacy of Canadian cartoonist Doug Wright, have nominated Michael DeForge as a “Best Emerging Talent” finalist. His recent comic book, Lose #1 (published by the fiesty Koyama Press), is a grotesque and quirky adventure through hell by “guardian elf” Nesbit Lemon. The Awards ceremony is an annual featured event at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival, and will coincide with the debut of Lose #2, the second installment in the series.

A featured event of the Toronto Comics Arts Festival (TCAF), the 2010 Doug Wright Awards ceremony will take place on Sat. May 8, at 7 pm at the Toronto Reference Library’s new Bram & Bluma Appel Salon.
