CAROUSEL is pleased to announce its latest 88 page issue — featuring art, fiction, poems, and hybrid works by Leesa Bringas, Vincent Colistro, Candace de Taeye, Laura Furster, Richard Kelly Kemick, Steve McCaffery, conormcdonnell and Antranick Tchalekian, along with the following feature articles:

Mark Laliberte profiles the work of experimental poet gustave morin, interviewing the author about his latest New Star Books release Clean Sails, a book of typewriter poems composed using dozens of different typewriters, the culmination of thousands of hours spent typing; it includes an exclusive portfolio of works.

Poet Jim Johnstone looks at the phenomena of the first book in Canadian letters, and explores the rise of the current crop of poets beginning to capture the national imagination — cataloguing the significant debuts of 2015; the section includes a selection of exclusive new poems from Chad Campbell, Ben Ladouceur, Cassidy McFadzean and 2016 Griffin Poetry Prize winner Liz Howard.

Shannon Anderson writes about Montreal-based multidisciplinary artist Dominique Pétrin (longlisted for the Sobey Award in 2014); the amazing large-scale paper-based installation spaces she creates are full of jarring colours, anthropomorphic blobs and optical spectacles that combine to incredible effect; they reference small press publication culture in both form and content.

In the 10th 4PANEL Supplement, our ever-popular comics section, we feature 16 new strips by Erin Curry, Jonathan Dyck, Edie Fake, Maria Galindo, Drazen Kozjan, Richard Kraft, Mark Laliberte, Micah Lexier, Aaron Linton, Andrei Molotiu, Erik Nebel, Marc Ngui, Jenny Nguyen, Ethan Rilly, Jon Vaughn and Daniel Zender that creatively explore the four-panel comics format in a formal, experimental, literary context.

The issue also includes a focus on renowned poet/sound artist Paul Dutton, featuring a selection of poems highlighting written, sound and visual modes of his work; it features QR links to several exclusive Dutton voice recordings that can be freely streamed/downloaded by our readers.
